Rockwall, TX – September 25, 2025– The City of Rockwall was proud to host the Texas K-9 Conference from September 29 to October 3, 2025. This annual event provides specialized training, certification, and education for working canine teams across a variety of disciplines. Residents may notice an increased number of law enforcement, fire, and state emergency vehicles around town during this time. Teams are training across the city at several locations and will be closed to the public.
Since its inception in 2001, the Texas K-9 Conference has grown from a small group of accelerant detection canines to an organization offering comprehensive training in disciplines including narcotics, patrol/utility, explosives, cadaver, search and rescue, and tracking/trailing. All trainers are certified by the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA), and teams will have the opportunity to earn NAPWDA certification and Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office Accelerant Detection Canine certification.
