The Poetry Community Christian School Teacher of the Week is awarded to Jose Wilson Paulino da Silva.  “Mr. Wilson,” as students call him, is multi-talented with two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in Music and one in Languages with four certifications. His experience includes teaching Portuguese, Middle School English, Music (Choir and Recorder), and Spanish.

He has performed and led music since 1990 and worked with children and youth in church programs since 2014, including acting as Choir Director for the YMCA Choir. Interestingly, he worked as a translator for Apple, a Bible translator, and a sign artist. He and his wife, Jayme, attend Center Baptist Church in Crandall. In addition to continuing teaching Portuguese privately, he has enjoyed teaching various music and art classes as well as high school Spanish I and II at PCCS. His passion for teaching and learning and joy for Jesus are what makes him so special to students and colleagues.

About PCCS

Poetry Community Christian School offers Christ-centered education for more than 200 students K-4 through 12th grade.

Founded in 2002, PCCS is fully accredited by the international accrediting organization, COGNIA (parent organization to South Association for College and Schools/SACS Division) and continues to be awarded high accreditation scores. During the most recent accreditation inspection, COGNIA awarded PCCS a score of 369 (well above the average score range of all COGNIA network schools, 278.34-283.33). This high score is not unusual with PCCS scoring in the exemplary range for the last two decades. In all accreditation domains, the school strives for the accreditation standard of “continuous improvement.”
