Elouise Windham, age 91 of Rowlett and formerly of Mineral Wells, TX, passed away June 15, 2022. She was born April 27, 1931, in Iowa Park, TX, to Houston and Inez Mendez. Devoted to her Catholic faith, Elouise was a loving mother, grandmother, great- and great-great-great. She was an accomplished cook and at one time had her own catering truck. She cooked the most delicious tortillas and the grandkids would stand in line for one, butter it and eat it, and then get in back of the line for another. Elouise liked to crochet and she enjoyed football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. She loved to sing and talk. Her sweet spirit and loving presence will be deeply missed.
Elouise is survived by her daughter: Chita Banda; son: Houston Orona Sr. and wife Sherry; grandchildren: Sandra Ingram, Amy Garza and husband Robert Jr., John Argumaniz and wife Erica, Houston Orona Jr. and wife Ronda, Robbie Bailey and husband Jeremy Sr., Frank Orona III, Brandon Pricer, Ruben Banda Jr., Deborah Falcon and husband Andy, Michelle Sandoval; brother: Scottie Mendez; sisters: Lucy Wright, Glenda Mendez, and Nelly Cole. She was preceded in death by her first husband Frank Orona Sr., second husband James Windham, parents, sisters Elsie, Mary Lou and Inez; sons Frank Orona Jr. and Henry Orona.
Funeral mass will be held 11:00 am Monday, June 20, 2022, at Sacred Heart Mausoleum Chapel, followed by interment in the Cemetery. The family will gather with friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home Rowlett Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm with a Rosary at 5.
