Andrew Paul Jenkins was born on May 23, 1977, in Hendricks Memorial Hospital in Abilene, Texas. Found on April 25th, he died of natural causes on April 13, 2022, at his home in Seattle, Washington.
Andrew is preceded in death by various members of his family and extended family: his beloved fiancé, Jamie Akers of Washington, paternal grandparents Pauline and Chester Jenkins, Sr. of Hamlin, maternal grandparents Hoke Smith, Sr. and Wanda Karnes Smith of Longview, maternal great-uncle Henry L. Karnes of Dallas, paternal uncle Charles Jenkins of Hamlin, maternal uncle Hoke Smith, Jr., paternal aunts Suzanne Jenkins Jackson of Snyder and Jeanette Jenkins Campbell of Abilene, and maternal aunt Arleigh Smith Kennedy.
He is survived by his immediate family, father Chester Arthur Jenkins, Jr., and step-mother Rhonda Thomas Jenkins of Dallas, mother Lesesne Smith Kunz, of Colorado, brothers Ben Jenkins and wife Colleen Jenkins of Plano and Jason Jenkins of Dallas, paternal uncle Pat Jenkins Payson, Arizona, maternal uncle Parker Smith of Longview, paternal aunt Mary Dell Jenkins of Baltimore, nephew Connor Jenkins of Plano, nieces Evelyn Jenkins and Elise Pina of Dallas and Kaufman. He is also survived by numerous first, second, and third beloved cousins as well as husbands and wives of those in his family who have passed and lots of dear friends.
Andrew graduated high school from J. J. Pearce in Richardson, Texas, and attended Brookhaven College. Andrew was an extremely talented guitarist. As a child he was a prolific artist, drawing extremely intricate pictures. He was a stage hand by profession, and enjoyed setting up the stage and electronics for touring bands and shows, specializing in lighting. His favorite times were those spent with family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, in the chapel at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 3701 Rowlett Rd., Rowlett, TX.
