City of Rockwall prepares ahead of winter weather

Rockwall, Texas – February 2, 2022 – With the potential of winter weather forecasted for this week, the City of Rockwall has been making preparations to keep residents safe.

Road crews have been monitoring weather conditions, and after the rain subsides on Wednesday, they will proactively sand the roads for potential ice. Additional crews are standing by to address any potential issues with the city’s water and wastewater services. If you experience a waterline break in your home, the City will turn your water off if you call 972-771-7730. All street, public water/wastewater employees will be working around the clock in 12-hour shifts to ensure they are available if needed.  

The Parks and Recreation Department has preemptively cancelled all senior programs for Thursday (2/3) and Friday (2/4) at The Center, located at 108 E. Washington St. As always, the Rockwall Police and Fire Departments are standing by ready to assist if needed.

Republic Services has suspended all trash and recycling pickup for Thursday 2/3 with the anticipation that roads may not be passable for their trucks. Trash and recycling pickup for the rest of the week will depend on the weather and road conditions. Check back here for updates as they become available.
