Rockwall, TX – May 7, 2025 – And they’re off! The mint juleps were flowing, the roses were blooming, and the fascinators were flying high at the Rockwall County Helping Hands “Run for the Roses” Kentucky Derby Party and Bourbon Raffle this past weekend at the Linden. Held under the sparkle of Derby Day excitement, our supporters turned out in full southern splendor to raise funds for our mission—and have a hoof-stomping good time while doing it!
Guests sipped and celebrated while cheering on the most exciting two minutes in sports. The “Pick your Pony” Game as well as the Bourbon Raffle were clear favorites of the day, with rare and coveted bottles snatched up by lucky winners! Guests savored delicious Southern bites from Newbold Cuisine and enjoyed a free bourbon tasting courtesy of Bardstown Bourbon, adding the perfect Kentucky flair to an already spirited celebration.

We tipped our hats to style this year and hosted a wildly popular outfit contest judged by committee. The competition was fierce, the flair was fabulous, and the winners were:
