Precinct 3 Constable Dan Otto Retires

Rockwall, TX-May 29, 2025 – Dan Otto has called Rockwall County home since 1981 and is proud to be a part of this community. Following graduation from Rockwall High School in 1990, Dan proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War and was honorably discharged. He also spent time in the Texas National Guard.

Dan kicked off his journey in public service in 1993 when he joined the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office as a jailer. He worked hard and climbed the ranks, becoming a patrol officer in 1996 and earning the title of Sergeant in 1999, all while serving under Sheriffs Jacques Kiere and Harold Eavenson.

On September 14, 2020, Dan was appointed Constable of Precinct 3 by the Commissioners Court following the passing of Constable Tom Egan. He won the election in November 2020 and officially took office in January 2021. Dan continued to serve the community with dedication and was re-elected in November 2024, beginning his new term in January 2025.

Justice of the Peace Mark Russo expressed, “It has been an honor to work with Constable Otto, and we wish him the best in his retirement.” Dan’s commitment to his community will surely be missed, and we’re grateful for all he has done!
