Rockwall, TX – April 17, 2025 – Former Texas State Senator Don Huffines stepped into a new role on Thursday as he served as Rockwall County Judge for the day.
During his visit, Mr. Huffines joined Maintenance Director Barry Compton and County Judge Frank New for a guided tour of major county projects currently underway. Among the highlights was a walk-through of the future 503rd District Courtroom, which is taking shape on the third floor of the Rockwall County Courthouse. The group also visited the new County Courthouse Annex, which remains under construction and is expected to open to the public later this summer.
The special visit offered Mr. Huffines an up-close view of the county’s ongoing investments in infrastructure and public service enhancements. His time as “Judge for the Day” served not only as a symbolic gesture of civic engagement but also as a spotlight on Rockwall County’s continued growth and development.
