Fate, TX March 25, 2025 – Longtime Fate resident and community advocate Martha Huffman has officially announced her candidacy for Fate City Council, bringing with her over three decades of professional experience and a deep commitment to preserving the unique charm and character of the city. Huffman’s campaign centers on a strategic vision for smart, managed growth, fiscal responsibility, and enhanced public safety.
“As Fate continues to grow, we need thoughtful leadership that prioritizes infrastructure, safeguards public safety, and ensures every tax dollar is spent wisely,” said Huffman. “I’m running for City Council to help guide our city’s future while preserving what makes Fate feel like home.”

About Martha Huffman
A Fate resident since 1998 and a second-generation Texan, Huffman officially became part of the city when her property was annexed in 2016. She and her husband, Steve, have been married for over 25 years and have raised their two children in local schools across Rockwall and Royse City.
Professionally, Huffman has over 30 years of experience in the legal field, where she has managed law office operations, budgets, personnel, and large-scale projects. Her career has given her deep insight into policy, financial oversight, and team leadership. Her daily commute to Dallas provides firsthand experience with the traffic and infrastructure challenges facing Fate and the surrounding region.
Martha has also been deeply involved in community service—volunteering for 12 years with USA Swimming and serving as Treasurer for Boy Scout Troop 989 in Rockwall. She and her family raise horses, chickens, ducks, geese, and bees on their property, embracing the rural lifestyle she hopes to help protect for future generations.
“I am passionate about responsible development, public safety, and maintaining the sense of community that makes Fate such a special place to live,” Huffman added. “I’m ready to serve with integrity and would be honored to earn the support of my neighbors.”
