Poetry, Texas – January 17, 2025 – The Poetry Pioneers are proud to announce the renaming of their annual pistol shooting event to the “Back the Blue” Top Shot Classic in honor of the courageous service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.
This year’s event holds special significance, as a portion of the proceeds will be donated to support the family of fallen Terrell Police Department Officer Jacob Candanoza. Officer Candanoza’s dedication and service to his community will never be forgotten, and this event aims to celebrate his legacy while standing in solidarity with all law enforcement personnel.
