Chelsea Kapalski

Poetry, Texas – January 9, 2025 – Chelsea Kapalski is this week’s PCCS Teacher of the Week. She began her teaching career in 2006 as a 4th grade teacher and a kindergarten teacher for the public schools (Garland, Rockwall, Katy, Stafford, and later Forney ISD) before “retiring” to raise a family. She holds a Bachelor’s in Academic Studies, enjoys teaching Writing Academy and teaching in small groups which allows for more one-on-one interventions, hands on, and reteaching. “I like seeing the lightbulb go off and showing kids they are capable!” She was longing to return to teaching and eagerly took an open Adjunct Faculty position in the Support Services Department at PCCS which offers the balance she wants between family and career. She joins Bethany Benton in coaching the Faith Blazers Dance Squad for the school. She and her husband, Cody, have two students enrolled at PCCS and attend The Gathering church. “It’s refreshing to know I can openly talk about God in class with students,” she says.

About PCCS

Poetry Community Christian School offers Christ-centered education for more than 200 students K-4 through 12th grade.

Founded in 2002, PCCS is fully accredited by the international accrediting organization, COGNIA (parent organization to South Association for College and Schools/SACS Division) and continues to be awarded high accreditation scores. During the most recent accreditation inspection, COGNIA awarded PCCS a score of 369 (well above the average score range of all COGNIA network schools, 278.34-283.33). This high score is not unusual with PCCS scoring in the exemplary range for the last two decades. In all accreditation domains, the school strives for the accreditation standard of “continuous improvement.”
