The Commissioners Court proclaimed October 1, 2024, the official kick-off for the Rockwall Toys for Tots campaign. The campaign endeavors to offer direct aid to children in need within the Rockwall County community. By partnering with local organizations such as Helping Hands, Lonestar CASA, The Children’s Advocacy Center, and others, they strive to ensure that disadvantaged children experience support and delight during the Christmas season. County Extension Agent Todd Williams and member Ty Rogers received a National 4-H Week Proclamation from the Commissioners Court. 4-H is the largest youth development program in Texas. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Women In Need (WIN) in Rockwall is actively participating in several community events to raise awareness and support victims of domestic violence. The Rockwall County Domestic Violence Awareness Vigil will be on October 4th at 8:30 AM at the County Courthouse at 1111 E. Yellowjacket Lane. Women In Need provides comprehensive services, including shelter, legal advocacy, and support groups, to help victims rebuild their lives in a safer environment.
