Monroe Alexander Arthur, age 60, of Dallas, TX, passed away September 8, 2022. He was born in DeQueen, AR, December 12, 1961, to Carlleen Edna (Garrison) and L. Dean Arthur. Monroe enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, fishing, and searching for rocks to add to his ever-growing collection. He was a loving man with a giving heart who loved spending time with family and his grandnieces during the holidays and special get-togethers. He always brought special gifts he made or had won at bingo for the family every Christmas. He was a lover of the Texas State Fair and rarely missed a year to attend. Monroe spent his working years at Goodwill where he retired. His downtime was spent watering the garden, putting the flags up, watching his movie collection, reading Marvel comics, playing bingo, and participating in the multiple activities at Juliette Fowler Community in Dallas where he spent the last 10 years. He was loved and will be missed dearly.
Monroe is survived by his sisters: Terry Boatman and husband Ray, Pattie Sanchez and husband Rick, and Jayne Cravens and husband Mark; aunt: Darlleen Poole and family; uncle: Gary Garrison and wife Mary; nieces and nephews: Nicole, Kyle, LaRheta, and Cody; grandnieces: Azlynn, Rayna, and Loxlee; as well as cousins, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, uncle and aunt.
A special thanks to his Juliette Fowler family for their extra caring staff of nurses and caregivers.
