Blanche Alice Hunstable Broyles, age 92, passed away Tuesday morning, September 20, 2022, at Faith Presbyterian Hospice Center. She was born on August 7, 1930, in Dallas, TX, to May and Fred Hunstable. Blanche was the seventh child of eight. She grew up in Balch Springs, TX, and graduated from Mesquite High School where she met her husband Alton. They were married February 11, 1949, and were married 55 years before his passing in 2004. Blanche was devoted to Jesus and her family, was a member of First United Methodist Church, Rockwall, TX, and was a member of the J. E. Wilson Sunday School Class where she had very fond memories. She sang in church choirs, taught Sunday school classes, and was youth director along with her husband, Alton at every church they were members of, including Wheatland United Methodist in Oak Cliff
Blanche is survived by her four daughters: Amelia Alice Angell (Paul) Kathy Jean Welton (John), Laura June Parrish, and Carol Jan Slaughter (Scott); fourteen grandchildren: Tonia Carpenter (Cameron), Amy Knapp (Trey), Sulinda Trilops (Gary), Kara Meketa, Alison Lowrey (Matt), Christine Matula (Patrick), P.J. Angell, Christopher Yarbrough, David Slaughter (Katherine), Justin Yarbrough (Katrina), Timothy Yarbrough (Megan), Jonathan Yarbrough (Katie), Katie Graves (Ben); twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter due in January; and many nieces and nephews who were kind and giving to her. She was preceded in death by husband: Alton Andy Broyles; parents: Fred Mortimer Hunstable Sr. and May Amelia Williamson Hunstable; granddaughter: Leah Michelle Welton; son-in-law: Johnny Parrish, and Jeff Meketa (granddaughter’s husband); and step-grandson: Matt Parrish; and siblings: Marcelia Box, Angelena Nelson, Fred Mortimer Hunstable,John Augustus Hunstable,Charles Eugene Hunstable,Robert Read Hunstable, Emily Coley.
Funeral services will be held 10:00am Saturday, September 24, 2022, at First United Methodist Church in Rockwall, TX. Interment will follow at 1:00pm in Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, TX. A gathering of family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service from 9:00am to 10:00am at the church.
