Jean Terry “Granny” White, age 93, of Richardson, TX, passed away August 7, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born March 9, 1929, in Floyd, TX, to Lilian Myrtle (Burton) and Jesse Byron Terry. Jean was a warm, loving, and kind woman. She was an amazing cook, especially her pie crust and larapin rolls. Jean was a long-time resident of Garland, TX, and worked for several notable Garland based companies, Byer-Rolnick Co. (Resistol Hats) and Varo Inc. She loved playing Scrabble with her mother and then her daughter. She was a gifted painter and a talented seamstress. She so enjoyed her friends and social life at HomeTowne at Garland. She was a great mother and will be missed by those who loved her.
Jean is survived by her daughters: Kathy Rodgers and Schuyler Hooker, Janice White and husband David Buyze; son: Dale White and wife Kristie; grandchildren: Aaron, Andrea, and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren: Megan, Taylor, Devin, Alexa, Alayna, Brooklyn, Korben and Lincoln; great-great-grandchildren: Aubree, Quentin, and Savannah; brother: Marshall Terry and wife Ada; special friend: Harvey McCreary; and sister-in-law: Chich Terry. She was preceded in death by her husband: Grady White; parents: Lillian and Jesse Terry; great-grandchild: Hudson Moncrief; sisters: Dorothy Terry and Bea Terry; and brothers: Philip Terry and Joe Terry.
Funeral services will be held 10:00am Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall location. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, August 15, 2022, at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall location.
