Arturo Ortiz Castaneda age 76 passed away peacefully on August 30, 2022, at his home in Garland, TX, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born September 17, 1945, in San Rafael, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Francisco and Paulita (Ortiz) Castaneda. Arturo was of the Catholic faith. He was married December 18, 1975, to Guadalupe Morales and they shared 46 wonderful years. He loved his family very much and they loved him. Arturo was a hard worker and was dedicated to their well-being. His presence will be deeply missed.
Arturo is survived by his loving wife: Guadalupe Castaneda; children: Patricia Castaneda and husband Rudy Alvizo, Rudy Castaneda and wife Amie; grandchildren: Bryanna Martinez and husband John, Lauren Alvizo and husband Keith Wilkerson, Savannah Alvizo and fiancé Anthony Aaron, Alexandra Castaneda, Audrie Castaneda, Anthony Castaneda, and Gabriel Castaneda; great-grandchildren: Kayden Wilkerson, Giovanni Martinez, Camila Martinez, Aniya Wilkerson, Lorenzo Martinez, and Adriel Aaron; siblings: Angelita Garcia, Guadalupe Rendon and husband Ricardo, Elba Barron and husband Hector, Rosa Fernandez and husband Leon, Rafael Castaneda and wife Gloria, Raul Castaneda and wife Aracely. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Victor and Joel Castaneda, and sister Ester Zamarron.
Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Sacred Heart Mausoleum Chapel. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There will be a gathering of family and friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home Rowlett Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:30 pm.
