Patricia Joan “Pat” Scott, age 87 of Rockwall, Texas, passed away July 31, 2022. She was born November 27, 1934, in Houston, Texas, to Howard West Reece and Frances Marion (Hammond) Reece. Pat spent her early life in Houston, where she graduated from Lamar High School. Not too long after graduation, good friends set her up on a blind date with a handsome young man named Bill. Although that date didn’t go as planned, things turned around somehow, and they were married on June 11, 1954. After spending 15 years in Houston, Bill’s job sent them and their two children moving all over the US. Through all these “adventures,” Pat was a great mom who supported her family in every possible way.
In 2003, Pat and Bill moved from Nederland, Texas to Rockwall, Texas, to live closer to their grown children. They attended Ridgeview Church, where they served by feeding the youth on Wednesday nights. Pat loved to read, travel and cook (she made a fabulous Chicken Kiev!). She loved to eat (like the whole family) and seafood was one of her favorites. She enjoyed talking and telling stories. She really never met a stranger. Pat loved her kids and grandkids, and recently her great-grand girls. She loved the Lord and she loved praying, tirelessly praying for her own family and many other families as well.
Pat is survived by her children: Debbie Todd and her husband Chuck, and David Scott and his wife Kay; three grandchildren: Tyler Todd, Chloe Scott Perez (Robert), and Leah Scott Jimenez (Adam); and two great-grandchildren: Lucy Joanne Perez and Immy Jimenez. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved husband: Bill Scott, on August 31, 2014.
Graveside services will be held at 9:30am, Thursday, August 4, 2022, in Rest Haven Memorial Park with Pastor David Sheppard officiating.
