James Arthur Speake, age 81, of Rowlett, TX, passed away April 9, 2022. He was born March 3, 1941, in Malakoff, TX. James served his country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, and he played golf in his early years. James started his career at Morton Foods working on the factory floor. He was very determined and hard-working and soon became a sales manager. He met his wife Carolyn while working there, and they were married June 29, 1963. James kept climbing the corporate ladder, became the CEO of Mac’s Snacks, and was with the company for 25 years. He raised his family in Lubbock and Dallas, TX. James had a lake house at Cedar Creek Lake and enjoyed spending time there, especially celebrating the 4th of July. James loved his family dearly and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
James is survived by his sons: Bill Speake and wife Linda, James B. Speake; daughter: Tina Speake; granddaughter: Mackenzie Bridger and husband Tim; great-grandchildren: Harper Rae and Beckham Lee Bridger. He was preceded in death by his wife: Carolyn Speake, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home- Rockwall location. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday, April 18, 2022, at the Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home- Rockwall location.
