Brian “Joey” Damon Lunsford, age 53, of Garland, TX, passed away April 22, 2022. He was born February 17, 1969, in Mt. Pleasant, TX, to Joseph Luke Lunsford and Gay (Collins) Lunsford. Joey was a selfless man with a big heart. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan who took every opportunity to make people laugh. As Joey takes his final journey, he will be missed deeply by those who knew and loved him.
Joey is survived by his son: Brian Damon Lunsford, Jr.; mom: Gay (Collins) Flinner; stepdad: Jerry Flinner; special mom: Donna Sikes Cole; sister: Shelly Lunsford May and husband Carlton; brother: Joshua Flinner and wife Renee; nieces: Andrea DeChant and husband Dalton, Haley Smith, Mykenzi Gilmore, Jaycee May, Skylee Flinner, and Ella Flinner; nephews: Jaxon May and Rory Flinner; and a host of extended family. Joey was preceded in death by his father: Joseph Luke Lunsford.
Funeral services are to be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, beginning at 11:00 am in Reflections Chapel at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall location. Burial will follow in Royse City Cemetery. A gathering of friends, family and loved ones will take place Tuesday evening, May 3, 2022, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall location.
