Bernard Lowell Warren

Bernard Lowell Warren of Aiken, South Carolina and most recently, Rockwall, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2022. Bernie was born in Barberton, Ohio, son of the late Germaine and Robert Warren. He was a graduate of Wooster High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University, where he was a member of the men’s swim team. Bernie had a career as a packaging sales representative for Champion Paper and International Paper. He raised his family in Canton, Connecticut and retired to Aiken, South Carolina.

Bernie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betsey (Davis) Warren; sons: Patrick (Rebecca) Warren of Heath, Texas and Michael (Erin) Warren of Missoula, Montana; grandchildren: James, Elizabeth, Audrey, Eleanor, and Reed; sister: Jan Hensley of Oklahoma; and niece: Shay Mann of Dallas, TX; brother-in-law: Stew (Sue) Fryer; nephew: Mark Fryer; and niece: Amy Ball, of Massillon, Ohio. He was predeceased by his parents; brother: Hal Warren; and sisters: Sue Fryer and Lynn Yoerns.

Bernie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aiken, South Carolina. He was a Scottish Rite Mason for over 60 years. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Bernie had a love for travel, sailboats, golf, and playing the banjo. He enjoyed the Hershey Antique Car Show, Model As, one-lunger engines, and motorcycles. On any given Sunday afternoon, he could often be found cheering on the UConn Women’s basketball team or watching some Ohio State football. Bernie loved bacon sandwiches and Esther Price pralines. He was the quintessential storyteller and was a friend to all.

Bernie’s final resting place will be Memorial Park Gardens in Dayton, Ohio. A celebration of life will be held at the home of Becky and Patrick Warren from 4-7pm on July 2nd at 816 Eagle Pass in Heath, Texas. Memorial donations may be made to your local food bank.
