Dolores E. Abshire, age 74, of Royse City, TX, passed away on March 18, 2022. She was born March 30, 1947, in Dallas, TX, to Daniel W. Myers and Doris (Payton) Myers. Dolores worked as a teacher’s aide at Royse City ISD. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, fishing, and traveling. Dolores loved angels and she collected angel figurines. Family was very important to Dolores. Her presence will be deeply missed.
Dolores is survived by her loving husband of 56 years: David Abshire, Jr.; sons: David Abshire III and wife Raelynn Nichols, and Christopher Scott; daughter-in-law: Stephanie Abshire; grandchildren: Adam, Brandie, Addison, Brittanie, and Awna; great-grandchildren: Gavin, Grayson, Genieve, William, and Isabella; sisters: Diana Chapman and husband Jerry, and Suzi Rizzo and husband Steve; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son: Benjamin Shane Abshire; and her parents.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 6:00 to 8:00pm Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location.
