The Rockwall County Office of Emergency Management responded to a reported tornado that affected the City of McLendon-Chisholm in the area of Chisholm Crossing, SH 205 & FM 548, and Bluebonnet Ridge. There have been no deaths or reported injuries.
The McLendon-Chisholm Fire Department completed damage assessments this morning and found 8 homes were directly affected by the storm. These effects ranged from power outages to major damage. Several other locations suffered damage to fences and auxiliary structures.
McLendon-Chisholm and Rockwall County reported the storm to the State, the National Weather Service, and the Red Cross. All three entities responded and have been on the scene to view the damage and assist with the recovery.
Due to the great work by the City of McLendon-Chisholm, the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office, Rockwall County GIS, and local leadership, repairs have already started on many of the affected properties.
