Rockwall, Texas – February 4, 2022 – Republic Services has determined they will not be able to safely run their trucks to collect recycling this weekend as they had previously hoped. Extreme weather conditions, specifically icy roads and alleys, will prevent the trucks from being able to pick up recycling on Saturday 2/5. Trash service had already been cancelled for the rest of the week. Temperatures are not expected to get above freezing before later in the day on Saturday and any melting today will refreeze in the cold temperatures tonight. Both garbage and recycling services will resume on Monday 2/7 on your regularly scheduled days, with the understanding that routes may take a little longer to accommodate the higher volumes that have accumulated.
