Maria Conrada Hernandez passed away December 26, 2021, at the age of 82. She was born November 26, 1939, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Lino Alvarez and Felicitas Oviedo. Maria was the matriarch of her family, devoted to Sacred Heart and to Our Lady of Guadalupe. She was a very strong and courageous woman who helped many people. Maria loved to talk about Mexico and her life growing up there. She was welcoming to everyone and enjoyed time spent with them. She enjoyed music, gardening, and cooking for others, but most of all she loved and cared about family.
Maria is survived by children: Jose I. Hernandez and spouse Maria B., Prisca Arellano and spouse Maurilio, Rosalia Hernandez and spouse Zeferino, Raymundo Hernandez and spouse Victoria, Martin Hernandez and spouse Alma, Jacinta Hernandez, Martha Hernandez and spouse Javier, Prudencio Hernandez and spouse Ana L., Angel Hernandez and spouse Tracey; 32 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; sister: Victoria Alvarez. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Jose Angel Hernandez just two days before. In addition, she was preceded by her parents, and siblings: Iginio, Natividad, Jesus, Delfino, Isidro, Ramon, Rito, Bernardo, and Venustiano Alvarez.
Funeral mass will be held 11:00 am Monday, January 3, 2022, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Garland, followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett. The family will gather with friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home Rowlett on Sunday from 12:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 4:00 pm.
