Edwin Dale Harrison, age 71, of Rockwall, TX, passed away on December 14, 2021. He was born June 18, 1950, in Dallas, TX, to Willie Odell Harrison and Lois Ladora (Lemmond) Harrison. Edwin met his wife, Sally in junior high school at the age of 15. They married on November 9, 1968, in Garland where they raised their family. He owned a barbershop in Garland and was a member of the Garland AMBUCS. Later, he went to work for AT&T where he had a long successful career. Edwin was a very competitive person who enjoyed playing poker, backgammon, and horseshoes. He loved to fish, play golf, and bowl. When he was younger, he enjoyed coaching little league baseball with his boys and playing softball. In 1992, the family moved to Rockwall, TX, where Edwin and his wife still reside. His family was always his top priority. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-granddaughters, and having large family gatherings. Edwin was also an animal lover. He especially loved dogs and horses. His presence will be deeply missed by many family and friends who he loved very much.
Edwin is survived by his loving wife: Sally Harrison; children: Jerry Harrison and wife Shannan, Ken Harrison and wife Anjee, Misty Speake and husband Rusty; twelve grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; sister: Evelyn King; and a host of loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters: Melba Blevins, and Charlsey Harrison; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held 10:00am Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Ridin High Cowboy Church, 8771 FM 35, Royse City, TX 75189. Interment will be 10:00am Monday, December 20, 2021, at Rest Haven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will take place Friday evening December 17, 2021, from 7:00 to 9:00pm at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location.
