Luz Helena De La Rosa, age 60, and long-time resident of Rowlett, TX, passed away on November 14, 2021. She was born February 2, 1961, in Dallas, TX, to Soilo Jacob Manriquez and Maura (Tinajero) Manriquez. Luz was a selfless, loving woman who always put her family first. She was a follower of Christ with a strong unwavering faith and trust in the lord. Luz loved long country drives, antique shopping. She loved playing video games with her granddaughter and all who were willing to compete with her, as she had a strong competitive nature. She had a great sense of humor and could fill up a room with her laughter alone. She wasn’t only a dedicated mother to her 4 children, but to her fur-babies as well. She had to share her food with her fur-babies because she couldn’t bear them watching her eat. Luz had a big heart and always wanted to help others in any way that she could whether it be by giving charity, a bite to eat, or even a place to lay their head. Luz loved people and animals of all kinds. She always found love for every living creature that came across her path no matter how tiny it was. She was a mother to all those who would allow her to be. Her presence will be deeply missed by family, friends, pets, and all who knew her.
Luz is survived by her loving husband of 42 years: George De La Rosa; sons: Antonio De La Rosa, Carlos De La Rosa and wife Shauna, and Jorge Luis De La Rosa; daughter: Rebecca Elena De La Rosa; grandchildren: Yvette Zarai De La Rosa and Haley Marie Lopez; brothers: Juan Alvarado, Gabriel Manriquez; sister: Martha Garcia; goddaughter: Xelia Ayala; godson: Javier Alvarado; and niece: Crystal Garcia. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4:00 to 6:00pm with a service beginning at 4:30pm Thursday, November 18, 2021, at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location.

Nació el 2 de febrero de 1961 en Dallas, TX, de Soilo Jacob Manriquez y Maura (Tinajero) Manriquez . Luz era una mujer cariñosa y desinteresada que siempre puso a su familia en primer lugar. Ella era una seguidora de Cristo con una fuerte fe inquebrantable y confianza en el Señor. A Luz le encantaban los largos recorridos por el campo, las compras de antigüedades. Le encantaba jugar videojuegos con su nieta y todos los que estaban dispuestos a competir con ella, ya que tenía una fuerte naturaleza competitiva. Tenía un gran sentido del humor y podía llenar una habitación solo con su risa. No solo fue una madre dedicada a sus 4 hijos, sino también a sus bebés peludos. Tenía que compartir su comida con sus bebés peludos porque no podía soportar que la vieran comer. Luz tenía un gran corazón y siempre quiso ayudar a los demás en todo lo que pudiera, ya sea dando caridad, algo para comer o incluso un lugar para descansar. Luz amaba a las personas y los animales de todo tipo. Ella siempre encontró el amor por cada criatura viviente que se cruzó en su camino, sin importar cuán pequeña fuera. Ella era una madre para todos aquellos que se lo permitían. Su presencia será extrañada profundamente por familiares, amigos, mascotas y todos los que la conocieron.
A Luz le sobreviven su amado esposo durante 42 años: George De La Rosa; hijos: Antonio De La Rosa, Carlos De La Rosa y esposa Shauna, y Jorge Luis De La Rosa; hija: Rebecca Elena De La Rosa; nietas: Yvette Zarai De La Rosa y Haley Marie Lopez; hermanos: Juan Alvarado, Gabriel Manriquez; hermana: Martha García; ahijada: Xelia Ayala; ahijado: Javier Alvarado; y sobrina: Crystal García. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres.
Se llevará a cabo una reunión de amigos y familiares de 4:00 a 6:00 pm con un servicio que comenzará a las 4:30 pm el jueves 18 de noviembre de 2021 en The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location.
