Yvonne Patterson, age 87, of Rockwall, TX, passed away on October 22, 2021. She was born August 6, 1934, in Paw Creek, NC, to Clarence Mundy and Ada (Perkins) Mundy. Yvonne was a member of Lakepointe Church in Rockwall.
Yvonne is survived by her husband of 68 years, Aubrey Q. Patterson; children: Tim Patterson and his wife Janet, Barry Patterson and Greg Raynes, Sheron Tolle and husband Stuart, and Kristi Routen and husband Dan; grandchildren: Matthew Patterson and wife Lyndsey, Jake Patterson and fiancé Katalina Benecke, Emily Tolle, Libby Tolle, Evan Tolle, Conner Routen, and Carson Routen; and sisters: Patsy Bird, and Glenda Diaz and husband Val. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and 5 sisters.
Yvonne grew up in Charlotte NC, she was one of 9 children. She had 7 sisters and 1 brother. Yvonne had a long career as a Legal Secretary for various law firms in Dallas, Texas. She was a very talented person who could create beauty from anything she touched. She especially enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening, playing the piano, and cooking for her family and friends. After she retired, she became a bear artist making beautiful jointed teddy bears.
Her 7 grandchildren were her pride and joy. She and Aubrey were a constant presence at ballgames, recitals, and plays.
She was an inspiration to her children and grandchildren who will always be grateful for her constant love and support throughout the years.
Funeral services will be held 3:30 pm Friday, October 29, 2021, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
