Denise Gayle Mata, 63, of Rockwall, Texas, passed from this life on October 6, 2021. Denise was born November 1, 1957, in Richmond, Virginia, to Norman Puni and Dolores Jeanne (Slater) Puni. She as raised in Mililani, Hawaii and graduated from Leileihua High School. Denise was loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her presence will be deeply missed.

Denise left her beauty to live on inside the hearts of the ones who on earth did collide, With the vibrant Hawaiian, so pretty and classy, I remember her mouth could at times be quite sassy!
Denise was a hugger, a giver of life, who loved being mom, grandmother, and wife, to the one known as Mike, who will adore her forever.
They bickered and kissed, and were always together.
She traveled the world, and managed folks money, her smile was contagious, her humor so funny.
The last time I saw her, we said, “I love you”, now she is up in heaven, with so much to do. We will miss you, Denise, on this rollercoaster ride, But we’ll be with you, when we reach the other side
Denise is survived by her loving husband of 46 years: Mike Mata: sons: Troy Mata and wife Crystal, Justin Mata and wife Iris, Blake Mata and wife Ara, and Perry Mata and wife Lindsey; grandchildren: Burke, Zoe, Kai, Leila, Cas, Chasity, Landon, Charlie Jeanne, Logan, Cody, Trevior, and Kane; great-grandchild: Vanessa; brother: Kenneth Puni; sister: Tracie Pili and husband Craig; beloved dog: Iggy; and host of loving nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00pm Saturday October 23, 2021 at Rest Haven Reflections-Rockwall.
A Celebration of Denise’s life will be held on Thursday October 28, 2021 at Christies on Greenville Avenue Roof Top from 5:00-8:00pm at 2817 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75206.
