R.J. Williams, 83, went to be with his savior Jesus Christ on May 31st, 2021. R.J. was surrounded with family as he passed peacefully at his home in Rockwall, Texas.
R.J. was born July 18th, 1937 in Lavon, Texas, the first son and third child of Thomas Miles and Eura Sweet Williams, who both preceded him in death. R.J. is preceded in death by sister Anna Jean Gilbert of Mineral Wells, Texas, and survived by sister Tommie Jo Douthitt of Lavon, Texas.
R.J. married Anita Faye NeSmith in 1958. While living in Garland, Texas, their daughter Carol Annette was born. R.J. and family then moved to a new home built on family land between Lavon and Millwood, Texas, where their son Thomas Ray was born. R.J. and Anita lived in their Lavon home for over 40 years. R.J. and Anita have spent the last few years living in a retirement community in Rockwall, Texas. R.J. is survived by his wife Anita Williams of Rockwall, Texas; daughter Carol Williams and husband David of Rockwall, Texas; son Tom Williams and wife Angel of Wenatchee, Washington; grandchildren Brittany, Jordan, Reed, and Geren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for R.J. Williams will be held on Sunday, June 6th, 2021 at 2:00pm at Rest Haven Funeral Home, which would be his 63rd wedding anniversary. Visitation will be at 1:00pm before service. R.J. will be interred at Thompson Cemetery in Lavon, Texas.
