January was School Board Recognition Month and Ms. Mosby, the art teacher at Jones, decided that this year would be the perfect time to turn for the students’ artwork to have a practical use while spreading cheer and hope.
Ms. Mosby and the sixth-grade students chose the theme “Here Comes the Sun” as their school board art project this year. “We chose this theme because it was a new year, and we were thinking about the hope that comes with it,” said Ms. Mosby.
Every sixth-grade art student received a blank mask to work on and painted their interpretation of the masks’ theme with acrylic paint. When they dried, Ms. Mosby took every one of the final products to the administrators, who decided which ones to send on to the board members.
Students enjoyed this art project and hoped it brings joy to the Rockwall ISD Board.
