It has come to our attention that an alarming post has been circulating social media platforms that contains clear misinformation. The post asserts that Rockwall has seen an increase in offenses involving sex trafficking/kidnapping and that women are being taken in broad daylight from stores and parking lots. To be clear, the Rockwall Police Department has seen no such activity.
While we continue to encourage all people to be cognizant of their surroundings, we wanted to immediately address these false claims.
Furthermore, if you ever observe any activity that you believe indicates sex trafficking or any other serious crime may be occurring, please do not hesitate to call the Rockwall Police Department at 972-771-7724 or 9-1-1.
