Rockwall ISD is proud to announce seven National Merit Commended, four National Hispanic Scholars and two National Achievement Scholars.

The seven National Merit Commended students are among the top 5% throughout the nation recognized for their exceptional academic promise. The National Hispanic Recognition Program, established in 1983, is a College Board program that provides national recognition of the exceptional academic achievement of Hispanic high school seniors and identifies them for postsecondary institutions. The National Achievement Scholarship Program was created in 1964 to increase educational opportunities for academically accomplished Black American students.

Last month, Rockwall-Heath High School students Isabelle Baumler, Chloe Holliman and Elise Sibley were named National Merit Scholarship semifinalists. More than 1.5 million students across the country took the qualifying test and only 16,000 qualified as a National Merit Semifinalist, placing them in the top 1% of all students in the nation.
