Shooting at Garland apartment complex leaves one dead, one hospitalized

The Garland Police Department is investigating a shooting incident in the 600 block of Broadway Commons.

At around 12pm on October 26, 2020, the Garland Police Department waa called to a shooting at an apartment community at the listed location. Officers found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The deceased has been identified as 18-year-old Ja Ray Malik Hollywood. The other individual was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Garland Police Department has identified 20-year-old Kevon Knnard Livingston as the shooting suspect who fled the scene from yesterday’s investigation. A warrant has been issued for Livingston’s arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Officers learned that Hollywood and Livingston arrived at the apartment and were allowed entry by the male resident. Once inside, a disturbance occurred for unknown reasons, which led to guns being produced and shots fired.

Livingston fled the scene prior to officers arriving. He is considered armed and dangerous.

A reward of up to $5,000 has been offered for any information leading to an arrest.
