Roger A. Goolsby Sr., a 27-year resident of Rowlett, TX, passed away August 18, 2020, at the age of 62. He was born December 15, 1957, in Dallas to Harvey and Patsy (Hammons) Goolsby. He was a forklift technician at Malin IHS until he retired. He was an avid traveler, a Harley enthusiast, loving husband, father, PawPaw, uncle, son and brother. As the life of the party, he will truly be missed.
Roger is survived by his wife: Carolyn Goolsby of Rowlett, TX; children: Alan Goolsby, Amanda and Ryan Lowrance, and Randy Goolsby all of Calhoun, GA, Lauren and Andrew Lavender of Rowlett, TX, Jessica Steward of Mesquite, TX and Daniel Cannon of Rowlett, TX; mother: Patsy Goolsby of Mesquite, TX; sister: Sheryl Goolsby of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren: Daniel and Aiden Estes, Elice Hensley, Houston and Tristen Goolsby, Aislynn Lowrance, Michael Sanchez, and Kade Lavender. Also, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey and brother Randy Goolsby.
A Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 pm Friday, August 28, 2020, at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rowlett Location. The family will gather with friends before the service beginning at 2:00 pm. Social distancing will be observed and face masks required.
