Mrs. Joyce Ann (Hoyl) Davenport, age 93, of Rockwall, TX, peacefully joined her Heavenly Father on Friday, August 23, 2020. Born and raised in Decatur, TX, Joyce lived most of her life in Dallas, and Rockwall, TX. She was the widow of Dr. W.E. “Gene” Davenport. Together they owned and operated Loop 12 Animal Clinic, and the Preston Hollow Animal Hospital in Dallas, TX. Joyce was a long-time Sunday school teacher, mentor, and friend. She was an inspiration of peace and joy to all who knew her.
Joyce is survived by her daughter: Penny Ann Maris; sons: Dr. Tyrone E. Davenport, and Bryan Hoyl Davenport; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Dr. William E. “Gene” Davenport; son: Kelly Davenport; parents: Archie Gladney Hoyl and Doris Ada (Boyer) Hoyl; and sisters: Jane E. Engel and Janet J. Burch.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Heath First Baptist Church, 224 Smirl Dr, Heath, TX 75032. Visitation with family will be 9-10am on Saturday before the memorial service. The service can be viewed remotely on youtube and or Facebook at fbcheath.com.
