Chester D. Laird, age 80, of Royse City, TX, passed away on August 25, 2020. He was born November 23, 1939, in Winters, TX, to Frank Laird and Vela (Derden) Laird. Chester was a hard-working man. He loved to no end. He was an extremely likable person who loved to joke around. Chester had a big heart and he loved spending time with his family. When he was 38, he was baptized and attended the Church of Christ in Red Oak, TX. Chester loved fishing, enjoyed watching sports and western movies. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Chester is survived by his loving wife: Alma Laird of Royse City, TX; daughters: Janet Marroquin and husband Alfredo of Dallas, TX, Sherron Ricks and husband Russell of Rockwall, TX, and Caron Wendt and husband Jeff of Rockwall, TX; son: Chester Laird, Jr of Royse City, TX; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; brother: Calvin Laird of Winters, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister: Charlotte Laird; brothers: Charles Laird, and Carlton Laird; and grandson: Alfredo Marroquin, Jr.; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location. A gathering will take place at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 12:00 pm. Masks will be required for all guests attending.
