Erin Shubel passed away unexpectedly August 9, 2020, at her home in Rowlett, TX, at the age of 44. She was born October 24, 1975, in Bad Axe, MI, to Irwin Edward and Lynn Marie (Zinger) Shubel. Erin worked in medical research at UT Southwestern. She is remembered by her family and many friends as a brilliant and truly unique individual who was loved and will be dearly missed.
Erin is survived by her son, Charlie Shubel of Rowlett, TX; parents, Robert and Lynn McDaniel of Rowlett, TX; brother, Kyle Shubel and wife Angie of Marshfield, MO; sister, Jennifer McDaniel of Royse City, TX; nephews, Kenny and Cline Herren; and many, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
It is Erin’s wish that she be cremated, buried in a biodegradable urn, and have a tree planted in her memory. She did not want a viewing or a wake, but that we have a party where everyone could tell a funny Erin story (and we all know at least one) and remember her with love and laughter. That will have to wait until after the pandemic. In lieu of flowers, she would love to have trees planted in her memory, or if that’s not possible, donations made to the SPCA in her honor.
