Guadalupe “Lupe” R. Gaitan, age 73, and long-time resident of Rockwall, TX, passed away June 28, 2020. He was born December 12, 1946, in McAllen, TX, to Valentine Gaitan and Juanita (Ramonez) Gaitan. Lupe was a long-time member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall. Lupe loved music, especially classic rock, and he loved to dance and take his kids out to big concerts. Lupe was a big Dallas Cowboys fan. Even his cars were blue to represent his favorite team. He and his wife met through a cousin and they were married July 4, 1970. Lupe served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His family was very important to him and his presence will be deeply missed.
Lupe is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years: Alicia Gaitan of Rockwall, TX; sons: Daniel Gaitan and wife Jeanine of Rockwall, TX, Joe Gaitan and wife Julie of Rockwall, TX, and Efrian Gaitan; grandchildren: Mikey Gaitan, Andy Gaitan, Jesse Gaitan and Samantha Gaitan; brother: Leo Gaitan and wife Gracie of McAllen, TX; and sister: Carmen Salinas of McAllen, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 1305 Damascus Road, Rockwall. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
