FATE, Texas, (June 16, 2020) – The Fate City Council recently approved an economic development agreement with J&K Land Development, LLC for the purchase of real property in the heart of downtown Fate. On the property, J&K will build Sauce & Vine, an Italian-inspired, family restaurant that will anchor the downtown and provide full-service restaurant amenities for the community.
J&K’s new and exciting venture will include Ted Grieb as Executive Chef. Chef Grieb has over 25 years of experience in the restaurant industry and has launched multiple popular dining concepts specializing in Italian and regional food, including Square Market and Zanata in downtown Rockwall. Chef Grieb was instrumental in the rebirth of downtown dining in Rockwall and is excited to expand his culinary footprint into Fate.
“Downtown Fate is in the perfect location for this high-energy, new restaurant project,” said Chef Grieb, “We are excited to create a central attraction for dining and entertainment in Fate’s rapidly growing community.”
“Sauce & Vine will be a catalyst in downtown,” said Mayor Joe Burger, “the restaurant will be nestled in the heart of downtown adjacent to a newly renovated park as its backdrop, allowing for a comfortable and playful atmosphere.”
“The whole J&K team is excited about this concept and location. We can’t wait to bring a great restaurant and gathering spot to the neighborhood,” said Jeff Swinger.
Sauce and Vine will have a comfortable, open-air, modern rustic dining area, as well as a farm-stand style market for takeout meals, fresh bread, gelato, and other house-made products. The Sauce & Vine kitchen will feature wood-fired pizzas from two beautiful ovens that are at the heart of the restaurant. In addition, homemade pasta with regional influences and other family favorites will make Sauce and Vine a regular destination for guests.
Two large patios will flank each side of the restaurant for guests to enjoy the views of the city and park. Guests can have some fun on the bocce courts while children play in the nearby custom play area.
“Sauce & Vine will be a hometown restaurant that exemplifies the Fate experience,” said Tamara Fisher, President of the Fate Municipal Development District. “Through the close attention to details in design, decor, food, and beverage, we believe it will be a destination for the entire area.” Construction is expected to commence later this year.
