Bobby “Bob” Joe Rodgers, of Dallas, TX, passed away on March 27, 2020. He was born February 16, 1930, in Houston, TX, to Hall C. Rodgers and Ruth Cleo (Wells) Rodgers. Bob graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas where he was a member of the ROTC program. He attended college at UNT and after graduation joined the United States Army. Bob was in the Army during the Korean War. When he was younger, he enjoyed playing basketball, golfing, and bowling. Bob was a Rockwall Resident since 2001 and then moved to Dallas in 2015. He was a member of FBC Rockwall where he enjoyed playing dominos. Bob loved watching the Texas Rangers. He will be deeply missed by everyone who loved him.
Bob is survived by his sons: Tim N. Rodgers and wife Debbie of Plano, TX, and Paul A. Rodgers of Amarillo, TX; grandson: Thomas D. Rodgers and wife Kelsey of Dallas, TX; sister: Jeanne Anderson; niece: Sharon Rodgers Lloyd, Kathy Markham Porter, MerriLee O’Brien, and Cheryl Anderson Dugger; and numerous other relatives and friends in the Rockwall community. He was preceded in death by his wife: Norma Faye Rodgers; and brother: Douglas Rodgers.
A private graveside service will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
