Message from Kevin Worthy, Royse City ISD Superintendent

Royse City ISD Families,

I hope that you and your families are safe and well. The impact of this challenging time on families and educators alike has been profound, however, we are so proud of your willingness to work together to benefit students. In Governor Abbott’s press conference on April 17, 2020, he announced that all school buildings will remain closed through the end of the school year for in-person instruction.

We will continue Digital Dawgs through the end of the school year following our regular school calendar. We will continue to post lessons for the week at www.rcisd.org/digitaldawgs and our educators will continue to deliver instruction digitally. Meal programs will continue as planned. If you see that your child is struggling emotionally in this challenging time, please contact one of their teachers. Our counseling team is ready and willing to support your children. Additionally, we are working on a plan for you to retrieve any items that your children may have left at school prior to Spring Break. When safe, we’ll announce that process.

Message for Class of 2020 Students & Families
The abrupt change to our normal school life has taken many special opportunities away from our graduating seniors. We have every intention though to honor our seniors and all of their hard work throughout the years. We’ve canceled our original graduation date in May and officially moved it to June 22. An additional backup date of July 16 has been secured as well. We will hold graduation at the Curtis Culwell Center. Details on that day will be communicated by RCHS. I’m also so proud to see how our community has rallied around seniors. We truly are all in this together. Thank you for your support of Royse City ISD.

Kevin Worthy, Superintendent
