A time to be Born…Patrick Michael “Mikey Alexander was born on August 13, 1958 in Port-of-Spain Trinidad. Mikey was the sixth and youngest child of Paul and Pearl Alexander. Mike spent his formative years in Trinidad & Tobago, then joined his parents in St. Thomas Virgin Islands, after high school, he joined the army.

A time to Learn… Mikey attended San Juan Seventh Day Adventist School before moving to Charlotte Amelia High School in the Virgin Islands. At Charlotte Amelia, Mikey was an active member of the school debate team and at one time was the only male to sign up for home economics. After graduating high school, Mikey joined the US Army. While serving his country he further his education by taking numerous continuing education and career development courses. Mikey also received his Associate degree in Accounting. After retirement, he worked as a tax consultant for H&R block and Tax Pro of Tampa.

A time to Work… Mikey started his military career as a private in the US army and retired as a sergeant first class. During his military career, he was deployed to Desert Storm and Somalia where he led his platoon on many assignments. Mikey received numerous medals included two bronze star medals for his exemplary services.

A time to serve the Lord…Mikey surrendered his life to the Lord as a young man. As an adult he attended several churches in the Miami area.

A time for Family…Although Mikey was the youngest of his siblings, he was often looked to for advice regarding family matters. He was the sibling that kept the family together by always arranging family get togethers. Mikey was an avid cook and he pride himself as baking the world’s best carrot cake. Mikey is survived by his wife: Danetta Alexander of Raleigh, NC; daughter: Eboné Alexander of Detroit, MI; siblings: Patricia and Felix Joseph, Peter Alexander, and Paula and Marshall Delpech all of Miami, FL, Pamela Alexander of Woodbridge, VA, and Philma Alexander and Willie Clark of Rowlett, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Monday, March 2, 2020, at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rowlett Location with Chaplain Mike Mackrell officiating. Interment will be in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family will gather with friends for a viewing at the funeral home Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.

The family will have a Wake following the viewing at 6002 San Marino Drive, Rowlett TX 75089
