Dorothy Jane Kirby, age 75, of Mesquite, TX, passed away on February 19, 2020. She was born September 30, 1944, in Dallas to Charlie James Kirby and Ethel Mae Kirby. Dorothy was a member of First Baptist of Sunnyvale. She attended North Texas State University. Dorothy was a fun-loving woman and a tremendously loving aunt. She was an avid exerciser and she loved to workout with her SilverSneakers group. Dorothy loved her family dearly. Her presence will be deeply missed.
Dorothy is survived by her brother: Charlie James Kirby; nieces: Pamela Kirby Lytle, Lana Kirby Owens, Kimberly Kirby Schwartz, and Lisa Kirby Gilmore; nephew: Christopher Kirby; great-nieces: Jayme Lytle Figueroa, Madison Owens, Mikayla Owens, Kimberlyn Schwartz, and Lauren Kirby; and great-nephews: Caden Gilmore, and Kirby Schwartz. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charlie and Ethel Mae Kirby; and her brother: C. B. Kirby
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at Nevada Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at The Gathering at Rest Have Funeral Home-Rockwall Location.
