Donald Roy Cornelius, age 73, of Fate, TX, passed away on February 8, 2020. He was born on March 7, 1946, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Roy Cornelius and Mary Jane (Greene) Cornelius. Donald served his country in the United States Army. He was the ultimate custom car enthusiast. Donald loved his family dearly. He was known for his grandpa-isms, such as “Every day is great. It’s just some days are better than others” and “The harder you work the luckier you get”. He was known for being involved in his community. His presence will be missed dearly.
Donald is survived by his loving wife: Karen Cornelius; daughter: Trisha Wanttaja; grandchildren: Connor Wanttaja, Cole Grimes, Meghan Wanttaja, Clayton Grimes; brother: Bill Cornelius; nephew: Steve Cornelius and wife Kathleen; sister-in-law: Sheree Perfetti and husband Dominic; brother-in-law: Paul Steinbach and wife Fay; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Donald’s life will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
