O.V. Lantrip, Jr., age 91, of Rockwall, Texas, passed away on January 5, 2020. He was born June 1, 1928, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Oscar Van Lantrip, Sr., and Ella Ruth (Chapman) Lantrip. O.V. served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired after a long career with AT&T. O.V. was a Master Mason. He was a faithful man and his family was very important to him. O.V. enjoyed Alabama football and the Dallas Cowboys. Mostly he loved Jesus and volunteering at church. He will be deeply missed by everyone who loved him.
O.V. is survived by his daughter: Sharon (Lantrip) Lemons and husband Brad; grandchildren: Jordan Lemons, Haley Gay and husband Zach, and Taylor Spratt and husband Garet; great-grandchildren: Zizi Virginia Gay and Tennessee Bradley Gay; stepson: Sonny Clements, wife Jo, and family; brother: Mike Lantrip and wife Vicki; and a host of other family members. He was preceded in death by his loving wife: Dovie Lantrip; brother: Billy Jack Key, and his parents.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
