Jo Elaine Triplett Obituary

Jo Elaine Triplett, age 54, of Heath, TX, passed away on January 25, 2020. She was born on March 14, 1965, in Dallas, TX, to Warren Brooks and Marguerite (Smulcer) Brooks. Although she is no longer with us, Elaine’s memory resonates stronger than ever. She was a very special person to everyone who knew her. She had this infectious smile and laugh that would light up a room. She was a beautiful soul inside and out. Elaine was the happiest, sweetest, and most optimistic person you ever met. She had a beautiful life with her husband, Marvin, which often entailed traveling to many places across the world, including her favorites, Aruba and Napa Valley. She enjoyed planning parties and was thrilled that she got to plan her daughter Elizabeth’s wedding and make it a dream come true. Elaine loved working for Ennis ISD and helping kids in need. She was a huge advocate for children with autism and other children who needed a voice. She was competitive and determined in all walks of life, but especially when it came to sports like skiing and tennis. If the weather was nice, you’d catch Elaine blazing down the highway in her Mercedes with the convertible top down. She was very fashionable and loved everything pink. She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and went to multiple Super Bowls with her husband, Marvin. Elaine loved her friends and enjoyed the many trips and glasses of wine she shared with them throughout the years. Most importantly, she loved her family to the fullest and was a devoted wife and mother.

It would be wrong to say that Elaine lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she remained determined. When anyone else would have broken, Elaine stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Elaine. She was incredibly tough, and motivated to keep living life to the fullest, and had the best attitude every step of the way. Elaine was truly a beautiful soul and she will be missed deeply.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 30 years: Marvin Triplett; daughters: Stephanie Triplett, and Elizabeth Greer and her husband, Ryan Greer; sister: Jennifer Morris; and Elizabeth’s mother-in-law: Cathy Greer. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother: Gregory Brooks.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on January 30, 2020, at the Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Location. Please wear pink or bright colors to honor Elaine. Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm a Night of Remembrance will take place at the funeral home.
