Arturo Guzman of Rowlett, TX, passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2020, at the age of 64. He was born June 28, 1955, in Jalisco, Mexico, to Alfonso and Concepcion Guzman. Don Arturo was a well-known and respected man. He had recently relocated to Texas in hopes of establishing his restaurants here as they were in California. Don Arturo’s Cocina y Cantina in Firewheel was his passion and he poured his soul into it. Arturo was of the Catholic faith and is remembered as a strong and loving man, devoted to his family.
Arturo is survived by wife: Sara Guzman of Rowlett, TX; children: Art Guzman and wife Araceli, Erica Guzman, and Sara Guzman and husband Juan Arteaga all of Garland, TX, and Ismael Guzman of Rowlett, TX; siblings: Benito, Alfonso, Baudelia, Amparo, Adela, Maria, Genoveva, Irineo, Maria Paz and Joaquin Guzman all of California, Maria Felix Guzman of Arizona, and Edwardo Guzman of Mexico; grandchildren: Jacob, Gianna, Giulianna, and Sebastian. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Javier.
Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at Sacred Heart Mausoleum Chapel with Msgr. Leon Duesman officiating. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery will follow. The family will gather with friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rowlett Location Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7.
