Chuck Martin, age 76 of Royse City, TX, passed away November 28, 2019. He was born August 8, 1943, in Mineola, TX, to Claud Leon Martin and Laura Ella (Newsom) Martin. Chuck proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a 24-year veteran of the Dallas Police Department.
Chuck was devoted to the Lord and to his family. He set a great example as a Christian and was an incredibly loving husband, father, “Papa” and friend. A humble and compassionate man, Chuck had a giving heart and was fulfilled by serving others. He loved the Christmas season, both because of the celebration of Jesus’ birth and the opportunities to share his love with family and friends. Chuck was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Rockwall.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years: Daisy Martin; daughters: Carrie Blackburn and husband Guy, Sheri Price and husband Heath, and Cindy Merrick and husband Tim; grandchildren: Ashley and husband Clete, Nathan, Paul and wife Danielle, Matthew, Benjamin, Lauren and husband Nick, Michael and Will; great-grandchildren: Jackson, Tyler and Collins; sisters: Patsy Michna and Wanda Wright; and brother: Michael Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents; baby daughter: Katherine Martin; and brothers: Leon Martin, Phillip Martin, and Preston Martin.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at First Baptist Church, 610 S. Goliad Street, Rockwall with Pastor Mike Weaver officiating. Graveside services will be 11:15am, Wednesday, December 4, 2019, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to the funeral service, with a reception beginning at 12:00pm.
