The Rockwall Yellowjackets held their first Regional Championship trophy in the air on Saturday for the first time since 1987.
The Jackets defeated Prosper 59-42 at The Star on Saturday night.
Rockwall fell behind 14-0 early, but then the Jackets found their game. Brayden Locke completed 25-32 for 443 yards and six touchdowns.
Jaxon Smith continued to do his thing with 6 total touchdowns for 234 yards. Smith needs 58 yards to break the All-Time Texas High School receiving yard record held by Jaxon Shipley.
The Rockwall Yellowjackets are now just two victories away from the schools second state championship, but the road does not get any easier.
The Jackets will take on undefeated and nationally ranked Duncanville on Saturday at McKinney ISD Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
The Panthers defeated Southlake Carroll on Saturday 59-42. The Panters fell in the state championship game in 2018 at the buzzer against Houston North Shore.
The game will be streamed live at www.rockwallisd.com
