Nita Jester Obituary

Nita Faye Jester, age 85 of Rowlett, TX, passed away Tuesday November 5, 2019. She was born October 1, 1934, in Fordyce, AR, to Edgar and Vennie Heinley. Nita was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. She owned and operated Nita’s Hair Salon and worked for Bobby Roan Realtors. Nita was commissioner and founder of Rowlett Softball League and served on the Board of Rowlett Parks and Recreation. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was very involved in her family’s activities.

Nita is survived by children: Howard Wayne Jester of Terrell, TX, and Stacey Hamblin of Rowlett, TX; brother: Norwood Heinley; grandchildren: Joshua Sperling, Jennifer Lott, Daniel and Miles Hamblin, Natalie Jeter, Jeremiah, Ashley and Amber Jester; great-grandchildren: Lindy, Laikyn, and Liviann Lott, Emery and Hudson Jester, Brees and Jade Hamblin, Tucker and Tate Sperling, and Bristol Jeter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard Raymond “Dugan” Jester, son Rodney Ray Jester, grandson Mitchell Ray Jester, and brother Wendel Heinley.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rowlett Location with Dr. Steve Leatherwood officiating. Interment will follow in Big A Cemetery.
